Tumblr Ate My Posts
There was a post about hip hop and one about sledding. Both were eaten. I didn’t even notice. Once I hit the “create post” button, I rarely check to see if things have posted right. I just exit and go on my happy little way.
Anyway. Yesterday, I went snowboarding. I had a lot on my mind, so my first run was the return to basics. I even fell twice. That never happens anymore. Later in the day, I got much better… I took a lesson, learned a few new tricks of the trade and my turns are like butter now. Smooth.
Lots on my mind - so I called my mom on my way to the mountain and she told me my brother had gotten really sick the day before. She said he called her and asked her to take him to the hospital. That is pretty big for my brother because he is so used to being sick and has such a high pain threshold; he never wants to go to the doctor. He ended up having a stomach virus and was extremely dehydrated. Mom said they kept him in the hospital, hooked up to “the fluids,” as she likes to call it, until about 2 in the morning. Now, if you ask me who I look up to the most - it is probably my brother. I am a huge fan of his. The guy is seriously the nicest person ever and always puts everyone before himself. He is like my grandmother in that regard. Actually in a lot of ways he is like her - he just has a very kind spirit. Even though I am younger, I have always felt like it was my job to protect him. I don’t know why; that’s the way it has always been. Anyway, I just hate that I can’t help him, that I am too far to do anything for him. Blah.

Side note: If you are looking for a good documentary, I started a series called America: The Story of Us. It is pretty great. It goes through major events in America’s history. Some things I haven’t put into my mind since high school history class. Really interesting to go back and study these events again as an adult.
